YAP About YAC: Catching Up with Eva on What's New with YAC
%20(1).png)
This month, we're catching up with Eva, a YAC member, to hear about an exciting summer, the latest design decisions and what's coming next.
Hi Eva! What's been happening with YAC lately?
Hi everyone! My name is Eva, and I'm part of the Youth Advisory Council for Foundry on the Westside!
YAC is excited to continue working with CMHA Kelowna and Foundry staff to design the upcoming Westside satellite location.
We would also love to give a huge thank you to United Way BC for helping fund youth engagement efforts, including the Youth Advisory Council! They also helped support the events we attended over the summer, including the West Kelowna Canada Day Celebration and Westside Daze!
We've heard YAC has been making some big design decisions. Can you give us a sneak peek?
YAC ended a great summer by going over some late-stage floor plans and starting to work with interior designers.
We want to make sure the Westside Foundry location is a comfortable and welcoming place for all youth.
We've chosen a colour palette, a vibe and some unique design elements. We're so excited to share our ideas with you in the coming months!
With summer over and school back, what's changing for YAC?
Since school has resumed for YAC members, we'll be having one meeting a month instead of two, like we did during the summer.
This also means there will only be one YAP About YAC video each month.
Anything you'd like to share before we go?
Keep your eyes peeled for more exciting things coming soon to the community!
Check out our social media accounts, @cmhakelowna and @foundrykelowna, for more details.
Thank you!

How to Support the Campaign to Bring a Foundry site to the Westside
The Not Alone: Bridging the Gap campaign is about bringing Foundry services closer to young people and families in West Kelowna, Westbank First Nation, and Peachland.
Your support can help ensure more youth have access to mental health care, substance use services, peer support, family support, and wellness resources when they need them most.
